Description
This image resulted from my photograph of Freda Kahlo on an outdoor painted mural in Old Town, San Diego. I wanted to create a work similar to a print monotype. Multiple filters and color manipulations coupled with other images I acquired from a shoot I did of a Rodeo in Eastern Washington. The mask idea is something that I felt was appropriate given what we now have to do routinely because of the Pandemic. There are more than 25 layers and many more manipulations in the process of this creation. I had the work reviewed and critiqued by a woman artist who has curated shows and whose work is in many galleries (not something I typically do) and she said she thought the work was wonderful. She loved the composition, color, mask effect, effect of the partial wording, and the composition in general. This has become one of my favorite creations. I hope it will resonate with you, the viewer, as well. Thanks.
