Description
Caladenia flava or Cowslip Orchid is an Australian native orchid. Found readily in spring, it grows to around 100-250mm high with a single relatively broad hairy leaf 60 to 120mm long by 10-15mm wide tinged purple on the underside. Two to four golden yellow, creamy-yellow or white, often red marked flowers 20-40mm across with short stiffly spreading petals and sepals and a prominently tri-lobed labellum with raised plate near the base, short fringed segments and twos of calli.
Sometimes naturally hybridising with the Pink Fairy Orchid to produce pretty variations, and were part of this extensive patch of Cowslips
