Description
Perfect timing as a CSX train crosses the Congaree River trestle nearest us while a Norfolk Southern freight waits to proceed after the CSX train gets out of the way. Shot from Cayce Riverwalk. The river is the county line between Lexington and Richland, South Carilina. It was exceptionally clear and still on the day I made tis photograph in 2007.
The CSX train on the bridge nearest the photographer is Q463, a daily train from Hamlet, North Carolina to Cayce, South Carolina. The other train was northbound daily Norfolk Southern 156 freight from Savannah, Georgia to Linwood, North Carolina. That train has since been discontinued by NS.
