Description
This print was taken Friday July 11, 2014 in the afternoon while everyone was working very hard cutting the grain and putting it in the dryers. Had combines out in the fields and also 2 hay cutters. Everyone is starting to get ready for winter. This is the first cutting of the year with if weather permits we will get 2 more before the snow flies here in Ohio. A farmers work is never finished as no matter what time of year it is there is always something to do. Farmers around her start there days at 4:30 a.m. and finish sometimes at late as 10:00 p.m.. You start the day by feeding the beef cows then this time of year you move to the fields where you stay most of the day. Some will say a farmer has it made, And I say work a day in there shoes then see if you change your mind. Most will say they can't handle it, But if they stop and think that working outside can't be beat by anything. Summer is warm and winter it is cold, But when it's in your blood you learn to live with what ever the weather throws at you. Most city kids couldn't handle it because there are no video games in a tractor and there is no cable T.V. in a combine. It's just plenty of work. You work hard for what you make and it's not an easy job by no means. Sometimes your in the field plowing an planting or cutting hay and wheat and other times you hauling manure out out to the fields and spreading it to make great fertilizer for the next crop you plant. The right fertilizer is the name of the game for great crops. This farm is located just inside of Holmes county, Ohio on state Route 179 at state route 3.

What? No video games! :) Sounds like a super experience for the kids. I have met kids who when asked where does milk come from, they say the store. They had no clue. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for your comment Gary Richards and I had a chuckle about the milk. Also some kids do not have a clue anymore about where anything comes from since a lot of families stay home on weekends instead of taking there kids out to the country to enjoy the fresh air and letting them learn a little.
