I am adding a quote by Vincent Van Gogh that I really like:

'It is good to love as much as one can for therein lies true strength, and he who loves much does much and is capable of much, and that which is done with love is well done.'

'Art is not what you see, but what you make others see'--Edgar Degas

Isn't that what art is all about, creating something that draws others in, and doing it with love?

I have painted mostly with oils for many years, but I began painting again in earnest several years ago as an empty nester and primary point person for the care of my elderly mother. Deciding to paint again was a wonderful indulgence and creative stress reliever for me. It still is. I love to work with oils for the vivid colors and, well, they are just fun to mix and use! My subjects are varied. I love painting street scenes, people, interiors, flowers, landscapes, animals and . . . .

I especially love creating and painting what I call 'roomscapes', combining elements of beautiful rooms (and sometimes including people and animals) and layering on color and texture much as an interior designer would design a room to evoke a particular mood or a welcoming, comfortable feeling of home! But these 'roomscapes' are places that exist only on my canvas! I am free to add or subtract, make beautiful, or create curiosity about what is in my painting!

My paintings are in private collections across the country, from San Francisco to Washington, DC. I have had the wonderful privilege to donate paintings for many charitable causes, including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. I have exhibited with Spring River Artists Guild, Gallery 451, Bound For Glory Gift Shop, Blue Bridge Center for the Delta Arts, and Art on the Border in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Most recently my painting, 'Sheltering in Place', was accepted in 2020 to be included in an exhibition of regional artists at Bradbury Art Museum on the campus of Arkansas State University. I am also listed in the Arkansas Artists Registry.

My husband and I grew up in Arkansas and raised three beautiful daughters. In addition to my artistic endeavors, I am the owner of Rodgers Disability Group, and I have proudly and successfully represented disability claimants before the Social Security Administration since 1999.

Thank you for visiting my gallery! I am in the process of photographing and uploading many more of my paintings, so please check back often to see what I have added!
