I remember the first time I saw a wolf in the wild.
It was one of the most significant moments of my life. I saw the spirit in the animal’s eyes as she studied me studying her. Her and I, under a cold Yukon sky.
Nothing has stolen my heart the same since.
Hi, I’m Isabel. I’m a hobby photographer that shoots portraits and landscapes, but my favourite subject to capture is wildlife. There is nothing more interesting to study, and we have so much to learn from them. To me, what is wild, is holy. There is nothing that makes me feel more alive, or gives me a greater sense of wonder than being in the presence of some of these animals. I know I am so incredibly fortunate to live in a place where I can still experience this; where so many others can only read about them or see them in photos. I can’t fathom a greater loss than living in a world without them.
I often pair my artwork with quotes that are aimed to bring attention to conservation and animal welfare. So that my images are not only considered visually enticing photography, but also tell a story. goal is to inspire emotion in my work to ignite conversation about the future of our planet and to evoke a deep desire for the preservation of jeopardized wildlife and ecosystems. Quietly, they fade to the consequences of our short sightedness. So few are telling their stories, or seeing their struggles. Now, more than ever, we need to think of solutions and encourage coexistence to protect that which we love.
$15 from every purchase will be split between non-profit organizations dedicated to raising awareness for wildlife conservation issues, and promoting co-existence. I have chosen the Fur-Bearers and Exposed Wildlife Conservancy.
