Grace was a late bloomer. She started to paint when she was 40 when a neighbor asked her to take an art class with her. She was pleasantly surprised to find she had some talent in that area. She took classes from 7 different teachers, learning many styles of painting. She started to sell her work, and has painted over 300 paintings that are hanging in homes all over the United States, Canada and the UK. She has had her work in galleries in Carmel, California and Scottsdale, Arizona. It was her joy to teach beginning oil painting for a time. She enjoyed seeing her students look at the world in a whole new way, as they saw how clouds were formed, how the shadows appeared, etc. Gardening is a hobby of hers and so she has painted many garden scenes and floral paintings. She was born and raised in British Columbia. Living in Oregon, Washington, California, and Arizona inspired her to paint ocean, redwoods and now desert scenes. Many of her clients have given her photographs of favorite vacation spots and she has created beautiful memories for them. She tends to spend way too much time trying to get just the right image, so her work is in the realistic, painterly category.
