A bit of info about me...

As a full-time artist residing in Colorado, I create art either in my private home studio or in the great outdoors of Colorado. During the warmer months, I enjoy taking day trips where I love hiking, swimming, fishing, or strolling down the streets of Estes Park, Colorado, or all of the ski resorts that we have here in Colorado. There are so many. It's during many of the hiking trips into mountain trails that I search for beautiful scenes in which to find artistic inspiration. It is during these hikes that along with my camera, I also bring my paints and sit by a river, or in a sunny flower-filled meadow and peacefully paint in the Plein air painting style. My inspiration for my art comes from nature, animals, dreams, and emotions.

I love to continually evolve my style, experimenting with textures, mediums, colors, and tools. Doing so enriches my creative spark and artistic vision! As a self-taught artist, I have gained much knowledge and academic understanding of the principles of art, to name a few, proportion, rhythm, and contrast, and overall balance of a drawing or painting. I cherish my book learning via my instructional artist books as I do my artist flip-page books which allow me to linger within the pages of the artistic talents of artists from the Fine Art Movement, such as the French Impressionist movement, the American Scene Painting movement (my personal favorite artist in this movement is Edward Hopper), then there is the Contemporary, Pop Art, Abstract Expressionism, Post-Impressionism, Realism, Surrealism, and last but not least, the Renaissance Art movement. I love them all!

Along with these wonderful aforementioned artist instruction books, I also seek knowledge from outside sources. From artist classes within an online art academy, I am provided with both one-on-one instruction and group lessons with a licensed art instructor. I feel it's vital for me to continue learning and strengthening my talents using various mediums and tools. I have created art using pen and ink, graphite and charcoal pencils, soft pastels, oil pastels, acrylics, oils, watercolors, gouache, and now I am learning digital art and pyrography! However, you will find that most of my artwork I currently have listed for sale is either created using oils on canvas, acrylics on canvas, and agate slices or paintings created using watercolor and ink.

My love for art started in my youth. And, since my teen years, I carry a sketchbook with graphite pencils wherever I go. I refer to it as my artist's diary. I hope you will notice that throughout every one of my paintings, you’ll see my love of mixing bold colors, using thick purposeful brush strokes, and bold lines. My favorite tools during painting are brushes, but I have been known to use palette knives, combs, sticks, and splattering to create artistic textures and movement within my pieces. Each piece of artwork I create is the result of a long artistic process filled with various sketches at the start, research, and long hours of love and emotions being poured into each and every piece of art I create.

I am so grateful to say that as an artist, both my commissioned pieces as well as non-commissioned artworks have found a home in many private and public collections nationwide. It is extremely rewarding when someone loves a piece of my artwork and purchases it. It gives me immense pleasure to know that my creations are somewhere brightening someone's space. Being an artist has enabled me to have met so many amazing people, go to such wonderful places meeting such delightful and talented artists. I feel immensely blessed to have this creative outlet and lifestyle.

Thank you for your interest in my artwork and for visiting my art shop! I hope my paintings, whether scenic landscapes, colorful flowers, or the beauty in a sunrise, and playful grace of the animals I paint bring you as much joy viewing them as I did in painting them!

I wish you much love and happiness!
