I am an amateur oil painter in the Mid-Hudson Valley.   I taught myself to paint as a hobby many years ago to help deal with the stresses of a demanding occupation.   I was inspired early on to paint bucolic scenes of the Hudson Valley.   I often drive for hours without direction to photograph subjects to paint at home.   However, painting in a poorly ventilated room may have contributed to a cancer that forced me to stop painting for several years on the advice of my doctor.   I began painting again with doctor approved water mixable oil paints (no more hazardous...more
