It is with a very heavy and sad heart that I must inform you of Dave's passing on November 13th 2018. He loved being part of this site with all of his heart. He enjoyed reading and responding to all his comments and making comments to his other artists buddies as well. I just wanted to make sure you all know why he is not responding to your comments. Not only have I lost my husband of 40 years, my best friend, my soul mate but the world has lost a wonderful person, artist and soul as well. Sincerely, Lorraine Farrow
Don`t let the bio photograph scare you. Seven other veterans and myself grow pony tails to donate to wigs for kids with cancer. Seven of the eight vets either have or have survived cancer. I have survived 10 years after initial diagnosis. My name is Dave Farrow. I am now 70 years old. I live among the rolling hills of east central Ohio in the city of New Philadelphia.I have never received any formal art education being completely self taught. It seems that I am never satisfied with anything I paint. My enthusiasm for painting however, is anything but unsatisfying. I love to paint from imagination, photographs, old calendars just anything at all. In 1966 and 1967 I did a tour of duty with the U.S. Armys` First Infantry Division in Vietnam. Although I enjoy painting a variety of things, much of my painting is based on personal experiences as well as some of the horrific nightmares I have endured over the years related to my time in ' the `Nam'. All paintings related to Vietnam are done to honor the 58,000 brave young Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice. May they never be forgotten.
