Description

The plane tree is connected with the fable of grab of princess Europa from Zeus (Jupiter). This myth features the princess Europa, whose name has been applied to the continent Europe and gives weight to the claim that the civilization of the European continent was born on the island of Crete. Zeus disguised as a bull approached Europa where she was playing with her friends in Phoenicia (then a Mycenaean trading post) When Europe saw the Zeus-bull caressed him and sate on him. Then Zeus took off and reached Gortyna Crete. When the god revealed himself in all the magnificence, mated with Europa under the plane tree of Gortys and gave birth to the 3 fabulous kings of Crete. King Minos being one of them. Plane trees are dedicious, but this one is exceptional. Keeps its leaves green all year around. The tree was 4000 years old but 200 years ago a fanatic christian burned down the tree. But from that root grew the tree that we see today. The peculiarities of infrared photography lie in the ability of the film to record what the eye can not see. Infrared photography has various applications in forensic science, medicine, wildlife photography, astro-photography, botany, archaeology, in pollution detection in the environment and in industrial applications. The experimenting photographer with the (IR) will enter a metaphysical world of mystery and magic. Sadly due to low demand and the advance of digitization Kodak in 2007 discontinued manufacturing it. All negatives (analog) have been digitized keeping faithfully the original tones without alteration.
