Description
Wintery color landscape photo of the first snowfall of the year in Denali National Park and Preserve, late August 2015. This US national park comprises six million acres of rugged Alaskan terrain and wildlife. What a cozy place to live or slip away for a private retreat.
The scene captures the unique beauty and tranquility of Alaska as summer gives way to fall. It features a moody sky with low clouds clinging to snow-covered craggy mountains, slender Russian spruce and Alaskan fir trees, and snow-covered rooftops. The only sign of fall that remains is a swath of deep golden yellow. Aside from this intriguing jolt of color, it looks more like a black-and-white photo.
Denali, formerly known as Mt. McKinley, and the tallest mountain in the United States, is not seen here, but towers over this huge forested wilderness, with abundant wildlife and valley glaciers. Captured along the George Parks Highway near Talkeetna. In this gallery you will find companion images—some in color and some in black-and white, and in various crops to meet your needs. Mix-and-match. Explore the possibilities within this gallery and see what interesting new looks you can come up with for your walls and lifestyle.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
