This is another painting depicting the "Winter Shadows" in Cambridge, Ontario. I enjoy painting winter scenes, especially when the bright sunlight creates colourful shadows on the snow.
I entered this painting in the 2022 Billboard Contest on Fine Art America. Below is my sales pitch as to why I think this painting should be one of the winning entries in the contest...
In the past, I was not a big fan of winter. Since I started painting winter landscapes, I've become much more appreciative of the beauty of the winter season--especially when sun is shining on freshly fallen snow, creating cool blue and purple shadows. That has prompted me to go on outdoor excursions on cold winter days to enjoy the scenery. Since this contest will include billboards on display during the winter, and in cities like Chicago, I'd love to see this season's landscapes represented. Maybe others, who are not big fans of winter, will also be drawn into more of an appreciation of winter's beauty
