Wildflowers Flourishing Under Oak Tree

Description
I was fascinated by this lonely, gnarled, twisted, old, ancient-looking oak tree in a meadow in central California. It seemed to have been a survivor, having endured many changes in season and climate. During its lifetime, it probably supported a variety of critters and plants just by its presence. Even in death, it is now providing shade for the wildflowers flourishing under its sprawling branches. Notice how it is leaning to the left - because it has lost branches on the right but not on the left side.
The wildflowers under the tree are Fiddleneck (Amsinckia menziesii). The blue/purple wildflowers in the background are Bush Lupines (Lupinus albifrons).
