Description
This is a pink Carnation flower close up and it has a bevy of petals blooming within the flower. It is growing in my mother’s California garden and looks beautiful within its green leafy background.
Carnations (Dianthus caryophyllus) are also called Dianthus. They are perennial flowers and are used quite often in flower bouquets because they last a long time after being cut. Their shades of colors can be white, pink, coral and red. They have a scent fragrance which resembles spiciness and almost like a clove. The name Carnation comes from Latin for crown.
