This depot at Deaver, Wyoming no longer exists. The railroad company removed it decades ago because the passenger trains were phased out. One wonders with the price of transportation being what it is now, will they rebuild the depot and bring back the passenger service?

The rail company was a class act. The upholstery on the chairs, the wainscoting on the walls, and the fine slate floors were built to last. This depot was small but I remember the aura of adventure every time we took the train. The station agent tagged the luggage, counted the mail sacks, and made out the tickets. The beautiful switch lanterns made fine decoration. The route map on the wall and the official logos for the railroad company were the wall art. The Regulator Clock was wound with care. We watched the pendulum swing to and fro and waited for the Big Ben Chimes to mark the time.

I drew this from memory. The last time I rode the train out of Deaver, I was an 8-year-old child.

Using only the computer mouse, I draw every line, add every bit of shading, highlights, blending, and refining to finish a piece. All of the art is started in Microsoft Paintbrush. The finishing process is done using Photoshop Elements.
