Description
This pretty little bird is called a Tufted Titmouse and it comes around this area of north Texas in the Fall season. It has such big round eyes and is a very lively bird. I love the touch of peachy orange under its wings. They land only for a few seconds at a time on the tree branches as they forage for food. This one seemed to be making a decision on which way to go before taking off. Although they match the wild trees, they do stand out when the Fall Autumn leaves turn colors.
The Tufted Titmouse (Baeolophus bicolor) bird lives mostly in woodlands, shade trees and groves and are very active birds. They forage among the trees and mostly eat insects and seeds, sometimes eating acorns as well. They are mostly seen in the eastern half of the United States.
