Description
I've taken this shot of a lone tree on a hillside and added some drama by converting it to a grayscale, simulated infrared image. The darkened sky intensifies the sun flare, and there is almost a 3-D look to the tree standing against the sky.
This image was captured in Front Royal, Virginia (USA.)

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.

They look like a pain to use but potentially an economical way of experimenting with IR)
David Beard replied:
Thank you very much, Murray! I've been thinking about branching out with some filters...love your IR work!
