I like flags and I like the history behind them. Well designed flags cause all sorts of emotions. Over time flags come to symbolize many things. They become fashionable, they become unfashionable. Still I am captivated by them, especially the American Flag, always have and always will be. It is the ideas, the hope the dreams the flag brings to many good people, that makes each one interesting.

The First time I carried a flag in a Parade, there was a Civil War Veteran in the parade. There were no parades when we returned from Korea, we came into San Francisco at 3:00am. The only ones to greet us, was a Salvation Army Band. Began voting at 21, absentee ballot in Korea. The last flag I carried was when I was 73, in Anaheim, CA. We fly a flag daily, but on Holidays, we fly the flag my nephew gave to me. If flew over the Arizona in Pearl Harbor, when he ReEnlisted there for his third tour of duty in the Army. He later fought in Bosnia, and Iraq, after 17 years was medically discharged due to injuries in Iraq jumping out of a Helicopter... Members of our family have served in every generation since Levi Osborne and his 11 sons served in the Revolution. Ive lived in many countries, _not_one_ was even close to being as good as this one, with all the problems we have. The flag represents our family, including the third member to be a receive the Medal of Honor. Jason Dunham a cousin, killed in Iraq while saving the lives of his men.
