Three Best Friends

Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
Description
The objects in this painting may appear to be pottery vases, and one with flowers, but they are symbolic of myself and two other friends. The vase closest to the viewer, the one that is ochre in color is a friend that often wears a scarf and is always impecibly dressed. The ewer with flowers is a friend that has a very showy and loud personality. The dark and barely seen violet vase is myself. I chose colors that represent friendship and the uniqueness of individuals. When we come together and are allowed to be ourselves without judgement, there is a family that can never be forgotten. This painting represents the joy I feel when spending time with people that I have worked with for many years.
I sold the original on 9/13/2014 in my gallery.

There is no way I'm throwing it away now, Maria and Kimberlee; it's sitting above my fireplace. The tear cannot be seen from the front as I'm the master of camouflage after painting on old walls for twenty years. Most of all, it represents three people I love and respect in this world. Thanks for your excellent counsel advice

Well said, Maria! I agree with you, but since Lisa is the creator of this work, she has to know in her heart that what we are saying is true and genuine! For what it is worth, I am voting to keep this work, embracing its flaws, just as we do our friends--we love them flaws and all!

I am with Dave... People don't look at the back of the canvas... and if they love the front, and they KNOW about the tear, then they will love it anyway like we love people with flaws.. and if they are buying the image, not the original, no issue. Beautiful work Lisa

Hey, a little duct tape on the back of the canvas should do the trick...lol

Thank you again, I just do too many practice paintings and they get in the way. This one has a huge tear in the canvas and that was there before I started. I thought it was a throw away before I started. LOL. Thanks again for your comment, I'll keep it.

Dave, thank you so much for your positive words. When I created this so called masterpiece which is in my garage ready to be hauled to the dump, I was experimenting with the idea that I could in fact paint an ewer or vase. The idea of ewers and flowers sort of bores me. Because of your comment, I might just keep this painting a while longer. Many thanks for your lovely comment.

A stunning work of art Lisa. Your extraordinary choice of colors is fantastic. I especially like the colors of the vases versus the background colors. It makes for a magical blend that has resulted in an awesome masterpiece..L/F

What an interesting and eye-catching work in acrylics, Lisa! I like how very different these three vases are, yet the combination of these three is very complementary, just like friendship can be! I like how you echoed the same colors in the background as in the vases! This serves as a great poetic symbolic work on the value of diversity and beauty in friendship, Lisa! Fave!
