Description
Romance, like the sea, is timeless and perfect. A couple in love shares an endless moment, arm in arm.
It’s easy to forget, in the world of movies and pretend, that true relationships are based upon more than love at first sight. The relationships that last are those that are between friends, companions for life who are comfortable being in one another’s presence.
They don’t always have to speak, because they are so secure with one another that silence doesn’t bother them.
They most certainly, as in the “reality” shows, don’t have to throw things at one another, shout, emote, cause strife and tension between them so that the viewers don’t yawn at the insipidity of the program and turn to a commercial on another channel.
The artwork, The Way That It Should Be, celebrates the beauty, peace, trust, innocence, and joy of a deep, real relationship, as the couple in love stands at the surf, arm in arm, looking out into the horizon. They fit together, in the same way that they blend into their surroundings, while at the same time, being unique from them.
So it is in a relationship between lovers who are also friends – they are literally one with one another, understanding the other person’s thoughts (and when they don’t, listening so that they can come to that point), and giving to one another for the simple reason that there is love between them.
But at the same time, they are very separate, very unique people who maintain their personality even as they blend their lives with the one they love.
The Way That It Should Be invites the viewer to step into this romantic world of friendship, commitment, love, tranquility, and joy. This kind of relationship, which is there for the long haul, truly is The Way That It Should Be.
