Artist
Arthur Barnes
Medium
Drawing - Ink
Description
The trestle in Waterport, NY was built by a train line called "Hojack" in 1892. The first trestle built here was made of wood and was built in 1875. It was a success but had to be rebuilt to support the heavy traffic and the heavier engines. It was still standing with its railed all ripped up when did this drawing in 1988 or so. It was part of a monthly column I had with the Medina Journal Register newspaper. The editor Owen Toale ran it in the paper for a couple of years.
