The Ring of Brodgar is a large stone circle in a prominent position on the mainland of Orkney, a group of islands off the north coast of Scotland.
Originally it consisted of 60 stones, but only 36 survive today. It is believed the site dates back to about 2500 BC, making it over 4000 years old.
The site also has least 13 prehistoric burial mounds.
