Description
"The Road to Church" -
Historic Perry Lutheran in Daleyville, WI
I went on a multi-stop motorcycle/photo ride on this day, and one of my first (unplanned) stops was here on the gracefully curving road leading in the unincorporated town of Daleyville to capture this idyllic Wisconsin scene. Perry Lutheran was established in 1854, splintering off from the Hauge Log church which was founded in 1852, which was the earliest Norwegian Lutheran church in western Wisconsin. I also will share a series of photographs from the Hauge church soon. From Wikipedia - "Daleyville got its name from Onon B. Dahle, who opened a store there in 1853. In early history the community's name was spelled “Dahleville.” Daleyville once had two blacksmith shops, a wagon shop, a post office, a shoe shop, a garage and general store, a physician and a surgeon, a telephone exchange, and a school."
Image captured 6/22/22 with Pentax K-1 and DFA28-105 lens at 105mm.
