Description
While driving through Castroville, I happened upon this house that was surrounded by poppy flowers. Int he back yard, there is single room cabin from pre-1850s and some really great history. I stopped and spoke with the owner, Lloyd Ross, who said that he originally planted the poppies because they were drought resistant and was trying to eliminate dust. Then, he started having people stop in and want to see his backyard, so he started allowing people to come in to visit. The flowers are just beautiful!
