Description
I spent some time exploring the streets of the Colonial City in Santo Domingo. This is the oldest permanent European settlement of the Americas and currently the capitol of the Dominican Republic. The city was officially founded in 1498, six years after Christopher Columbus first stepped onto the island. Today the city is a beautiful look into the past. Much of the original architecture is still standing and the streets are rich with life. Truly, a beautiful culture.
