Guinea pig is a special, festive dish in Peru which tastes a bit gamy. The locals call it cuy. Some say it tastes a little bit like oily grey meat duck. It certainly doesn't feed very many people! There is a rumor of a digestive symptom known as Guinea Pigs' revenge! Peruvian oil paintings of the Last Supper often show guinea pig as the main dish. Growing guinea pigs is a cottage industry; high thresholds allow them to be kept in the living area. One can easily find street corner vendors selling fresh grasses and greens to feed them.
