This early 20th century Egyptian History print features the Temple of the Sphinx in Cairo, Egypt, which lies at the foot of the front legs of the Sphinx and has been carved from limestone excavated from the Giza Plateau like the other pyramids in the region. Contrary to popular belief, this temple is dedicated to the Egyptian Sun God, namely God Re, and not to the Sphinx despite its close proximity to the later.
