Awesome new Penquin Coast exhibit at The Maryland Zoo In Baltimore! A must see African Penquins exhibit has definitely become a big highlight of this Baltimore Zoo.

I love this scene of these flightless birds swimming fast as if to be racing ... zippy and fast. . It looks like a swimming race with penquins on the side lines cheering the others on. It was adorable and fun to watch.

About the new Penquin Coast Exhibit: With 360 degrees of viewing space, there is no bad spot at Penguin Coast. Each viewing space is different. I checked out all the outside viewing spaces...wow!! Wonderful views!

This new, $11 million Penguin Coast exhibit is now one of the first things visitors see after taking a shuttle to the park's exhibits. A small island designed to mimic a makeshift South African fishing camp sits in the center of a ring of water, so the penguins can swim in circles past an enclosed underwater viewing area. There are about 60 penguins, and zoo officials hope to expand the number to 100 in the next three years.

Visitors can watch the penguins climb and swim from the outside or head to the underwater viewing for an even more spectacular show. The exhibit also brings an upgrade to size, holding more than 185,000 gallons of water. Interactive features like the dump tank help ensure that all this water stays clean, along with entertaining visitors. See other African Penquin scenes taken by me, with more information.
