Description
This winter sunset over the Shenandoah Valley was one of the most dramatic I've ever seen. All the elements aligned to create an amazing scene.... a dramatic display of light and color, almost surreal. Layered clouds criss-crossed the sky with the sun setting the icy cirrus clouds ablaze with intense light, surrounded by a coppery glow that spread over the valley. The sun flare in my lens added an extra flash of color and light in the dark lower corner of the frame.
I captured this image on a February evening, along the Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park, just a little south of Front Royal, Virginia.
