Description
Low clouds were rolling in over Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park, and over the Shenandoah Valley and the western ridges, heavy isolated downpours had begun. It was interesting to look down the valley, and see how numerous individual areas of heavy rain falling from what appeared to be a continuous bank of clouds. The dead tree by the overlook adds an extra touch of depth and drama to the shot, and the wildflowers at lower right add a little pop of bright color.
