Description
A day at Charlotte Beach in Rochester, New York. An electrical storm was approaching so the lifeguards required everyone to clear the water an the beach. The beach once so crowded was now desolate.
Charlotte Beach is also referred to as the Ontario Beach Park. The park is located on the shores of Lake Ontario in the northwest quadrant of the City of Rochester. The park consists of 39-acre and is one of the Great Lakes' best natural sand beaches. Charlotte Beach was once called the �Coney Island of the West.� Once a thriving tourist spot, the only features left from the parks heyday is the pier, bathhouse, boardwalk, bandstand, a few concessions, and The Duchess (an original 1905 Dentzel Carousel, one of only 14 operating antique menageries in the country with the distinction of being one of a few that still working in its original location.)
I enjoyed manipulating the photograph to enhance the feeling of sunshine and fun as shown by the bright sun reflecting on the chair and the gloomy clouds of the dark storm approached.
