Description
This small crocodilian is common to wetlands in Central and South America. It is called the spectacled caiman because of the bony ridge between its eyes, which looks like spectacles. Caiman crocodilus is known locally as the 'babilla'. This caiman was photographed in Paraiso, Panama, near a pond.
