When Santa comes to town, not a single member of the family is left out. Even if the humans in the family have forgotten to put out a stocking or presents for Roxy the Dog or Studio the Cat, Santa remembers these loyal, yet inarticulate, members of the family.
Something for Everyone captures the feeling and joy of Christmas as Santa takes time from his busy schedule to pull out of his bag a special treat for both his feline and canine friends. While Studio the Cat is focused on a toy mouse (in real life, Studio the Cat focuses on anything that moves, which makes him a great hunter, but a really scary lap cat), Roxy the Dog is looking at the stocking above the fire, fascinated by the bone peeking out from the top.
“Surely that can’t be for any of the humans in the family,” she thinks, although the thought process of a dog doesn’t look quite this familiar to us. “Treat. Me. Treat. Me,” might be more accurate.
Because Santa doesn’t play favorites, he enjoys every moment he has with the people and the animals on his long list of households to visit. Although there is much to do in one short evening, Santa doesn’t rush, and he knows that Studio the Cat and Roxy the Dog appreciate their time with him.
Something for Everyone celebrates the family pet, that special member of the family who is one of the bunch, and yet not quite one of the bunch. If we’re going to believe in Santa at all, then we may as well go the whole way and invite the dogs and cats and rabbits and fish and horses and goats and chickens of the household into the celebration, and make them part of a very special day.
