To get to Jigokudani Yaen-Koen, the famous Snow Monkey Park in Nagano Japan prefecture, you walk for about 30 minutes through the woods. I kept my camera ready, expecting a lovely snow-covered winter landscape. I wasn’t expecting to see snow monkeys in the trees on the way! I walked the trail three other times during our stay at the lodge near the park and never again saw monkeys on the trail so that was a lucky day!
