Description
Statue of a sleeping Manead found to the south of the Athenian Acropolis. The statue presumable adorned a luxury residence. The Menead is asleep, lying on a panther skin spread on a rocky surface. The type is known as the reclining Hermaphrodite. The work expresses the classicising trend of an Attic workshop. Time of the emperor Hadrian. (AD 117-138). National Archaeological Museum Athens
