Description
1946 Chrysler Windsor with suicide doors. Just coming out of a recession, no new cars had been made in the US since 1942. The 1946 Windsor was basically a 1942 with a new grill and different trim. The post war auto craze found people putting their names on waiting lists for new cars – something never heard of before. I cannot find the term flipping used at the time but people would buy a new car, drive it for a few months then sell the used car for 50% more than the legally allowed new car purchase price. The Windsor came with the economical 250.6 cubic inch, 114 hp, L-head inline-six.
Nelson, NV. Population 9 people, and a gazillion old cars and trucks - and rattlesnakes - and a bunny.

Great photo and title, Guy. I just did a '46-48 Chrysler T&C that looks nothing like this!
Guy Shultz replied:
Thanks Ron! Both your T&C & its setting & this one are worlds apart! Mine was already staged too.
