Description
The original lighthouse, was built in 1855, the oldest screw-pile lighthouse in Maryland. It was placed on a shallow shoal, the Seven Foot Knoll, in the Chesapeake Bay at the mouth of the Patapsco River. When it fell into disrepair it was replaced by this cylindrical structure. In 1989 this was replaced by a tower so it was given to the City of Baltimore, Maryland, It now sits on land at the Baltimore Inner Harbor and is a museum. Kenlynn took this photo while enjoying the Inner Harbor on a summer's day.
