This male ruby-throated hummingbird, Archilochus colubris, had either just landed, was getting ready for take off or just flexing his wings.
I authored and included many of my hummingbird photos in a book titled "Ruby-throated Hummingbird Facts and Photos." It has many hummingbird facts that are sure to fascinate you. It is available through Amazon.
