We were sitting out in our front yard watching the sun go down. I had the irresistible urge to do a painting. This time of year is fire season and unfortunately in Montana we are experiencing some bad fires. The sun sets are always way more intense. This was done outside (PleinAir) something I don’t usually do, but it was a total rush. Knowing you only have so much light, and the sun starts setting fast when it gets close to the horizon. I also had a few people watching, which is totally new to me. It was intimidating at first but then my adrenalin starting kicking in and bamb…. Away I went. Got most of it done, let it sit a few hours and in the “studio” (my garage) I did some finishing touches.
