Title
Regensburg Bavaria At Dawn
Artist
M Bleichner
Medium
Painting - Acryl On Canvas
Description
Some say, the view from the stone bridge to the old city is similar to the one in Prague, Czech Republic. And it is true, the stone bridge in Regensburg was a real milestone and an archtype for many bridges, built at that time (around 1150).
To get a better impression, about the massive achievement: It was for 800 years the only bridge across the Danube in Regensburg, the construction took 11 years. There are of course some myths around the bridge. If interesed, find more about the legend of the devil, the bridge, the dome - and why the bridge has a hump.
Our painting looks across the Danube, at dawn. It would be a good time to visit Regensburg in the coming weeks, as the "Christkindlmarkt", the christmas market gives the center a flavour of cinnamon, wurstel and gluehwein.
