Red Cayenne Peppers From My Garden On Black
Artist
Conni Schaftenaar
Medium
Drawing - Colored Pencil On Black Bainbridge Board
Description
Red Cayenne Peppers on Black, colored pencil drawing by Conni Schaftenaar.
My husband picked a big handful of beautiful red cayenne peppers from our garden a couple of weeks ago and just dropped them on a utility table in our garage. They looked so "artful", I took a couple of photos, which I used for reference to do this drawing. I also did a similar piece on white paper which also can be seen in my gallery. I've used these in some spicy tomato jam, he's used some in pickling, and we're drying some to grind for our own red pepper flakes. Such a gorgeous pepper! They glow in the light!

Conni Schaftenaar replied:
Thanks, Kay, yes, we grew those particular peppers last year, and put in more for this year! They are so beautiful, and we do a number of things with them, including drying and grinding for red pepper flakes, and as an ingredient in tomato jam - yummy and spicy!
