Description
This is a close up view of iconic circa 1791, Portland Head Light from what I always consider the back side as it is the almost opposite view that is most commonly photographed. This is looking in a southeasterly direction. Portland Head Light is reputed to be the most photographed lighthouse in the world. Indeed during the hundreds of times I have photographed it, I have met many other photographers from around the world there. Often times when photographing such iconic places I will look for a point of view that is not most commonly seen.
