Description
The beautiful small harbour and quaint fishing village of Polperro in Southeast Cornwall, SW England, UK. The village nestles in a valley alongside the small river Pol. Farming in the area began in the Bronze Age (2000BC in Cornwall) and according to online sources the village was established in the C13th. Renowned for smuggling in previous centuries as it was only accessible by sea or coastal path Polperro is now a popular tourist destination. It has an attractive maze of narrow streets and jumble of old fishermen's cottages and wonderful Atlantic coastal scenery. Taken from Peak Rock.

Richard, that is such a beautiful setting. I bet there is a lot of history there. L/F
Richard Brookes replied:
Thank you Jane. Yes, it goes back a long way. According to online sources it was first mentioned in written form in 1303 but archaeology has shown farming in the area goes back to the Bronze Age which started in Cornwall before 2000 BC!
