Description
Church of St. Johann, Val di Funes, in the Geisler Mountains, is a tiny stone church with its famous onion bulb steeple is actually a chapel, but the sight of it is stunning. It sits at the base of the Odle Mountains as if it's steeple is pointing to God's creations. It is also often referred to as St. John of Nepomuk in Ranui or San Giovanni.

The Church of St. Johann came to grace a meadow at the foot of the Odle massif in 1744. A Baroque gem inside and out, the front facade showcases decorative pillars painted on the ends with a depiction of St. John of Nepomuk near the peak of the chapel.

Norma, What a poignant capture of this wondrous Church engulfed in such majestic mountains.. What speaks to me is how small we, as humans are, in the size and scope of God's Creations, yet, His Glory dwells all around us and we are made in His image- A telling contrast and vision- His purpose for us to love and serve, to care and create for His glory! And what a glorious world he made! Thank you for this beautiful reminder of our humility and His miracles.
