Title
Point Defiance Garden Flower
Artist
Ken Powers
Medium
Painting - Watercolor On Paper
Description
I think this might be a dahlia variety as I found it in the Point Defiance Dahlia Garden in Tacoma, Washington. There were many other flowers besides dahlias and roses, however so I am not sure. I was amazed at its beautiful color however. The original is 10"x13.5" in size and is painted with a combination of Rublev 18th century reproduction watercolor paint, Daniel Smith watercolor paint, and Winsor & Newton watercolor paint on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper. The coarse paper really helped created an interesting textural background for this piece.

Another beauty!! The way you have captured the light and shadows is amazing and the background shows off the blossom perfectly. Well done.
