I remember when you sat on the sill
A sign of promise
A sign of hope
Encouraging strength, fortitude and will.

I remember your fresh bright green
A sign of faith
A sign of courage
A new life in a sterile scene.

I remember each long lonely day
The tests and therapies
The fears and worries
Hanging on words the doctor would say.

I remember our little world alone we three
The struggles, the victories
The laughter and agonies
You sat there watching him and me.

I remember you sat there quiet and still
Saw our coping, our pain
Saw our loss and our gain
I remember the love and I always will.
