The great expanse of the Milky Way at Big Cypress National Preserve in Florida. Unfortunately, the Milky Way is a sight that not many people get to see these days. Cities are getting bigger and suburbs and metropolitan areas are expanding into areas that previously were free of light pollution. In South Florida places like Everglades National Park and Big Cypress National Preserve are ideal places to view the night sky the way it was meant to be seen. A great way to find out where to view the Milky Way can be seen near you is to go to www.darkskyfinder.com. Even if you have to drive for an hour or two it's well worth the trip to see the wondrous sight of our galaxy.
