Description

A proliferously blooming geranium caught my eye in the church parking lot after a GriefShare support meeting.

The dreary, overcast sky - as if trying to decide whether to rain or not - softens the sunlight and brings out the delicate array of pink hues.

Yes, God indeed can use the "gray" and sad times in life to display the beauty in our lives if we but slow down and allow the Creator to lead us.

I am dedicating this floral portrait in loving memory of precious Mother Cheryl, who instilled in me a love and respect for God's amazing creation.

As beautiful as these earthly flowers are, they pale in comparison to what awaits in heaven for those who have received Yeshua Jesus into their hearts.

Artwork notes::

With very minor editing and only a slight cropping, this is pretty much the way these beauties looked in the image coming out of the camera. The overall color hues were left "as is" to show how lovely they were, close to real life.

Embedded in the top right-hand corner is the Hebrew acronym for "B'ezras Hashem" [ב ס " ד] meaning "with God's help". It is a reminder to me as an artist and photographer of my dependence on the Almighty, the Originator of all creativity. This is a similar acknowledgement used by great artists like Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel who signed their work with the Latin phrase, "Soli Deo gloria" which means, "Glory to God alone".
