Title
Pele's Breath
Artist
Heidi Fickinger
Medium
Photograph - Photographic Print
Description
While the massive 2018 Kilauea lava eruption of Hawai'i Island has been now quiet for nearly 2 years, the presence of Pele still remains. This 'fog' is actually steam rising from cracks in the ground that allow a constact seep of water into super heated rocks that lie above still present lava deep below. By panning the camera slightly during the exposure, I sought to amplify the feeling of the spirit of Pele's everpresence here on the Island.
